Pallet Calculator
Estimate pallet count, pallet height, cartons per pallet, and palletized shipment CBM from carton loading assumptions.
When pallet planning helps
- Exporters estimating pallet count before booking pickup
- Warehouses checking carton layers and stack height
- Small importers preparing palletised cargo details for a forwarder
- Ecommerce sellers comparing loose cartons with palletised shipping
Enter carton and pallet details to calculate pallet requirements.

Pallet footprint, layers and stack height
Cartons per pallet = cartons per layer x layers per pallet. Pallet count = total cartons / cartons per pallet, rounded up. Pallet height = carton height x layers plus pallet base height.
Pallet count and height example
If each pallet holds 8 cartons per layer and 6 layers, each pallet holds 48 cartons. A 96 carton shipment would need 2 pallets before checking weight, height and stacking limits.
Palletisation assumptions to avoid
- Allowing cartons to overhang the pallet footprint
- Ignoring carton crushing risk or maximum stack height
- Forgetting to include the pallet base height in transport dimensions
- Planning by carton count without checking total pallet weight
FAQ
Is this a final pallet loading plan?
No. This is a planning estimate. Actual palletization depends on carton strength, overhang rules, pallet type, stack limits, and warehouse loading instructions.
What pallet size should I choose?
Common options include 120 x 100 cm and 120 x 80 cm, but buyer, carrier, and warehouse requirements may differ.
Should pallet height include the pallet base?
Yes for transport planning. This calculator adds a default pallet base height of 15 cm.
